Which calculation do these Polonnaruwa prayer times use?
They are taken directly from the published timetable of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU), the recognised body of Islamic scholars in Sri Lanka. ACJU already applies its own per-district adjustments, and Asr follows the Shafi'i shadow ratio used by most mosques in Sri Lanka, so no further correction is needed for Polonnaruwa.
Do these times apply to Hingurakgoda and nearby areas?
Yes. The ACJU timetable for Polonnaruwa is used across the district, including Hingurakgoda, Medirigiriya, Kaduruwela. Differences within a district are under a minute, so the same times are followed by mosques throughout the area.
Is the azan time the same as the jamaath time in Polonnaruwa?
No. The times on this page are azan times — the moment each prayer window begins. Mosques in Polonnaruwa usually call the congregation (jamaath) a set number of minutes afterwards, and that gap differs from mosque to mosque, so check with your local masjid for its jamaath schedule.
